The Sorority hopes to enlighten female engineers and technical scientists to the career opportunities available to them. The sisters create a friendly, warm atmosphere where integrity, character, and self-confidence can flourish. Alpha Omega Epsilon strives for scholarship and academic achievement. The Sisters of Alpha Omega Epsilon promote ideals and objectives that hope to further the advancement of female engineers and technical scientists, while at the same time developing bonds of lifelong friendships. The Sorority's mission, ideals, and objectives have spread to other campuses, and as a result, we now have forty-seven active chapters. Initially founded to unite female engineers of all curricula, the Organization's mission has since expanded to include females in both engineering and technical sciences. Four months later, on March 22, 1984, Alpha Omega Epsilon became a recognized organization on the Marquette University Campus. The Sorority was founded on November 13, 1983, making Alpha Omega Epsilon the oldest engineering sorority. We have recruitment in the fall and spring. If you are interested in joining our chapter, please attend our recruitment events to meet our amazing sisters and hear about their experiences. I am so happy to have met this amazing group of women who constantly inspire each other to reach their full potential. I have met my closest friends and my leadership and communication skills have greatly improved. Since becoming a member of AΩE, I have found so much support from my sisters in my personal and academic life. We further support “Dress for Success” by volunteering at their stores. Throughout the school year, we host events to raise money for our philanthropy as well as host professional dress clothing drives. Our own philanthropy, “Dress for Success”, empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. We also value our relationships with other Greek Life organizations and enjoy supporting their various philanthropies throughout the year. We participate in NC State sponsored events like Homecoming, as well as events held by other organizations on campus. Our sisterhood-building events, various leadership positions, and professional development events help to provide this safe environment.Īt NC State, we are very active on campus. We strive to always create a warm, friendly environment where our sisters feel comfortable to grow friendships and strengthen their leadership and professional skills. They guide our sorority in every decision we make. Since our founding, we have created a community for hundreds of women in STEM here at NC State.įriendship, leadership, and professionalism are our three pillars. The Gamma Chapter was founded in 1991 as a way for women in STEM to come together as sisters to create supporting friendships and learn important professional skills. Hi!
